Charmed life

Michael Clarke is leading a charmed life here...

Tight chance to Mckenzie, castled by Jacques Kallis (much to the amusement of everyone except perhaps Clarke) and then being dropped by Hashim Amla.

I like Clarke - classy cricketer - good to see him scrapping a bit for the Aussie cause...

Yeah Clarke is finally taking some responsibility as a vice captain. I hope he gets to a big hundred.

Amla's drop might prove to be a bit costly but if SA starts aggressively in the morning, they can get the rest of the tail enders out cheaply.
I don't see Hauritz troubling them much but they have to watch out for siddle.

It has been a good match so far.

138 - not too shabby - definately put the Aussies in the driving seat... Mitchell Johnson again weighs in with the bat..

I had a feeling Amla's drop catch would prove costly.

I think SA are well set at the moment. Smith's loss might not be much of a problem because the batting line up is in form.

The wicket will start to crack up even more by lunch time and it would be tricky to bat on. Australia's inexperienced bowling line up will give SA an advantage. So far, Australian's have not looked to getting a wicket. However, the way this series has been playing out, anything can happen.

Yup - track cracking up quite quickly...

No offence to McDonald but I can't believe he's the next best bowling option??

Bollinger looks interesting as a left arm seamer but looks a little shy of pace..

none taken. I think it is still too early to call McD anything yet. I think he did an excellent job in cutting down the runs. He can swing the ball in, which is missing from, even the specialist bowlers in the Australian team. They still have not learned how to swing the damn ball.

Anyway, McD did a far better job then Hauritiz. McD should be given a test or two, to see how good he really is. I am not a fan of Hauritiz at all, I think Krejza would be a better choice, compared to him. He is much more attacking.

Punt and the selection team has made a mockery of themselves with these selections. I think after warne, they have lost faith in their spinners and are instead, going for a spinner who can hold one end. I would go with someone who leaks out runs but still takes wickets.

Krejza was treated unfairly. He should've been given this series to prove himself. Making changes between the series, will always screw with your confidence.

I think anything over 300 or 350 would be a good score for Australia to defend, on this wicket.

SA would have to back themselves up in the field today. Their fielding has not been of high class and on this pitch, which is cracking up, they really need to take their chances. I'm looking forward to seeing Steyn bowl today.

Yip - Aussies seem to be unsure of what role they actually expect their spinners to play...

Harris knows what his job is. Macgill and Warne knew what their jobs were... Hauritz seems to be unsure and Krejza seems to have been given a license to attack even if he's going to bowl a high level of lollipops...
