I momentarily felt sorry for the Aussies when they went down against the Black Caps today... They've been through one hell of a summer with almost every game being fought down to the wire...
48 hours after the South Africans have departed their shores and are putting their feet up and enjoying some rest and relaxation, the Aussies are out scrapping against Daniel Vettori's boys.
I really don't understand the logic and in my (humble) opinion, this smacks of overkill for the Aussies.
On the 26th of February the two sides lineup at the Wanderers. Mitchell Johnson has bowled his heart out in long test match spells and a bunch of ODI's. Now he's expected to attack an SA batting lineup that is fresh and well rested?!
In comparison - Steyn, Morkel and Ntini are resting up and sorting out any injury niggles... Just doesn't sound right.

Yeah valid points. I feel with Stuart Clark out, Shane Watson probably not going to be fit, Brett Lee out for certain, the youngsters are in a tough spot. The spinners like Beau Casson who didn't do badly on debut get turfed and their confidence issues rattle in domestic cricket. The setup in Australian domestic cricket is so strong its mind blowing to see the NSP not utilising stocks wisely. With Clark and Watson out as medium to fast swing bowlers, I hope Nathan Bracken gets the call up to the tour. He hasnt played since 2006 which was against SOuth Africa.
You must try give your site a bit of a face lift mate!
Dont know much about Casson but Hauritz, Hogg and Krezja all seem to float in and out of favour with the selectors and nobody really gets a chance to settle.
Krezja never really struck me as the right fit but playing around until you find the right guy might help.
I know the post was about some experimentation but maybe they need to use these Black Caps games to rest and rebuild a bit before they come to SA...
Yeah yeah it needs some tidying up - Just need to find the time!

Brad Hogg is retired now for over a year. Hauritz, Casson, Krejza and McGain are the options.
Yeah the work load is going to be intense.
As always a balance needs to be found, but this where the IPL poses a threat. A while back I posted an article on my site relating to my opinions on the pros and cons of IPL. May relaunch it.
