Best T20 bowler

Jawad and I were having a bit of a chat about the best T20 in the game and I rather grandiosely (is that a real word?) proclaimed that Johan Botha must be the best...

... Decided to take a closer look at some of the bowlers and see what the stats say.

Figure in brackets is number of games - chucked some other names in as well for comparison. Check out Vettori!

Johan Botha - 7 wickets at an average of 25.14 and economy of 5.86 (9)

Daniel Vettori - 21 wickets at an average of 14.28 and economy of 5.35 (14)

Nathan Bracken - 19 wickets at an average of 18.94 and economy of 6.68 (16)

Sohail Tanvir - 9 wickets at an average of 28.33 and economy of 7.08 (10)

Umar Gul - 20 wickets at an average of 12.20 and economy of 5.11 (13)

Shahid Afridi - 19 wickets an an average of 18.47 and economy of 6.10 (15)

hhhhmmmm any other big names that we should add to this list?

You know what i've noticed is that most of the ones we mentioned are slow bowlers. No one is super fast. We have yet to see the likes of Steyn, Lee or Tait creeping up in the list. Pretty interesting to see how T20 is such a fast game but it is the slow blowers who are so successful at it. You would expect the slow bowlers to get a beating but doesn't happen as often.

Holy shit! Vettori is way up there! I always thought he was a bit under rated but he has alot of respect amongst the Australians and they don't take him lightly. His all round performance has gotten even better after taking up the captaincy from Fleming. If only New Zealanders would take cricket a bit more seriously, they have some decent players in their team.

Yeah Vettori delivering the goods it would seem. Slow bowlers I reckon will decide the T20 World Cup which is around the corner...

Look up ICL records too. Abdul Razzaq(Pakistan) plays for one of the teams in ICL, he too, has a good record. I think Chris Harris (NZ) has a decent record too. Just telling you these off top of my head.

Will do...

I see we've managed to bounce back nicely today... Surprising to see such a low score on Centurion Park
