Grrrrr!

I don't know if this is a new thing that the TV producers are trying with their coverage of T20 to "jazz" it up a bit and maybe I'm a traditionalist but I HATE this thing they have of switching to a side-on view just as the bowler delivers the ball....

I like to be able to see the bowler running up, have an idea on where he landed the ball on the pitch and where the batter has hit it. If you show me a view in real-time from square leg, I'm completely unsighted and personally I get a little disoriented.

Is it just me or does this irritate other people as well?

I have to agree with you. I think we have watched too much cricket, and those camera angles I saw were rather stupid, frustrating and created a degree of dizzyness and nausea on my part! The feed was also very poor too.

But I must be honest that I did make a few comments during the first two Tests about the drop in standards I have noticed with the SA camera work. But the Newlands Test was better. Hope they drop the innovativeness for the next one.

Nausea deluxe! Feed was poor as well.

When we arrived in Oz at the start of the series I did a blog post about how far behind SA television producers are when compared to the Aussie counterparts.

Where channel 9 manages to corner Adam Gilchrist to talk about how to hold a bat and that thing he did with the golf ball in his glove to improve his grip... we have what exactly? Zilch....

Commentator was as well we're a mile behind you guys. Slater, Nicholas, Benaud, Healy and Taylor vs. Mbangwa and Wessels - give us your guys with their personalities any day!

Robin Jackman must go, and I am glad you didn't mention Tony Greig. i like his opinions, but hate his commentary. He's a pessimist. But I agree, SA commentary, even in rugby is highly depressing.

I do think they have tried with various experential marketing tactics, but still a long way off, and adverts that are aimed at arrogance and belittle the opponent, rather than build up your own team and lead your fans on to support to the end is even rarer.
But yes, I do think SA footage standards have dropped, I never noticed any issues before this Test series. Just the commentary poor, except Pommie Mbangwa. Kepler I give kudos to for his experience.

Funny I dislike Mbangwa... Kepler and Cullinan are space fillers but without Mark Nicholas to keep it going the quality is not great...

I enjoy Boycott for some of his chirps and if I remember correctly Dave Richardson was good when he did a stint....

Dunno - we need to find some personalities to step in and entertain us.
